Hobbies that bring me to life

Number 1: CyPhaCon

It always starts with a year. 2012. My adopted mom invited me to this crazy fandoms-based event called CyPhaCon. We walked the convention floor and I felt at ease. It felt like Halloween on steroids, and I love Halloween. I ran into so many friends (pictured is Anthony and {inthebackground my NOW husband!}, the library table, and the second floor where everyone gathers.

Now, my fandom topics are Supernatural, Star Trek, and Broadway spiced with a little Strange Magic and whatever my kids are obsessing over at the moment.

circa 2014

Eventually I would weasel my way into a staff position where I now Moderate their Discord server year-round. You can join that here | Cyphacon Official.

Tickets for CyPhaCon are on sale through Ticket Master at the Lake Charles Event Center, online through our website and locally at Stellar Beans Coffee House and MacFarlane’s Celtic Pub for special event tickets! Locally, ticket sales stop Monday the 6th at 7 PM.

Number 2

So, about discord.

I moderate for a few SMALL servers. I LOVE IT. Obviously, I moderate my own and you can join it here | Sunflower Garden Cafe. It’s a humanist’s experience on EVERYTHING. My server is for communication about permaculture and gardening, gaming, food, memes. It’s messy and it’s free of ads unless you want to look at them and that’s my favorite part.

Building the small community I have feels like I’m on the right track.

3) People

Polyamory to be specific.

I practice polyamory. I let friendships or romances form organically without any restrictions.

I also let them fade if that person wants to let it fade.

I don’t like back and forth. I’ll push my point if pressed but if I decide I don’t like how something is going I unfortunately double down and hold on tighter.

I’ve recently given letting go a chance and that feels emptying, but there is a difference, I feel, when someone talks to me versus talking at me.

As they say, “Love is a battlefield.”

That said, I’ve had some amazing conversations with some absolutely beautiful people. Hopes and worries, dreams and nightmares, gossip and hearsay.

My Compass

About the symbols in this tattoo. 1)The Hearts – My love in quadrants, my kids, my partners, my friends, and people I haven’t met yet. 2) The Polyamorous Heart – With it’s infinity pointing back towards the center; I am the center of my universe. 3) The Arrows of my Compass – a forever search for that love and experience.

Also pictured is my squiggle. A shitty first tattoo but a ; semicolon of hope for me.

Things do get better.

It’s really cool to see how people around me are reflecting themselves and me back at me if that makes any sense.
