Deception of the Digital Sort

Midjourney AI scraping comes to mind first but that would be too easy for me to trip down. . .

So imagine this: guy walks up to you and says for $100 he could boost your views. Do you take the bait? Because this guy is a scammer. As simple as that, as short as the conversation can be. There is nothing but putting in the work that will get you the views. And going viral once or twice shouldn’t be the goal.

This is essentially my experience with Discord and TikTok when it comes to strangers adding me randomly from larger servers or when I like a post from a larger creator on TikTok.
People of all ages are the target for scams on the internet.

I cannot tell you how many times I’ve had this exact conversation trying to be as vague as possible:

So imagine this: person messages you on tiktok asking you over and over if you’ve got a sales plans for a book that isn’t written or on discord asking what your budget is for advertising and (and all their examples are AI…) the scammer can’t take the hint that zero Doll-hairs, ZERO DOLLARS are available to do that regardless of if I have money or not.

The blessing of not having money is that I definitely can’t be scammed out of it.

The reporting features on both platforms are improving, but the blocking feature on Discord leaves much to be desired.

If I had a dollar for everytime this has happened to me, ay yi yi. Good on you for blocking and not taking the bait. You are 100% right imho that honest work is the way. Yes there are lots of scams and schemes that anyone could put together to get some cash, but it never ends well, at least not if you want to be able to sleep at night and have friends.
